Jay Graber, CEO of Bluesky, made waves at SXSW 2025 with a bold fashion statement aimed at Mark Zuckerberg. Now, the viral “A WORLD WITHOUT CAESARS” T-shirt is available for purchase—if you can get your hands on one.

Bluesky’s Limited-Edition Shirt Sells Out in Minutes

Bluesky has officially started selling the Latin-inscribed T-shirt that Graber wore during her SXSW keynote in Austin, Texas. The black tee, featuring the phrase “Mundus sine caesaribus” (which translates to “A world without Caesars”), was a direct jab at Meta’s CEO, who had previously worn a similar Roman-inspired shirt.

According to Mashable, Graber’s shirt quickly sold out within 30 minutes of being listed on worldwithoutcaesars.com for $40. Proceeds from the sales reportedly support the AT Protocol developer ecosystem, which powers the decentralized Bluesky platform.

The History Behind the Shirt’s Message

Graber’s T-shirt mimicked the design and typeface of a shirt worn by Zuckerberg at Meta Connect 2024, which read “Aut Zuck aut nihil” (“Zuck or nothing”). This phrase was a spin on “Aut Caesar aut nihil”, a Latin saying meaning “Either Caesar or nothing”.

The Verge notes that Zuckerberg has long been fascinated with Roman emperors, particularly Augustus Caesar, while Graber’s message challenges Big Tech monopolies and promotes decentralization.

Graber’s SXSW Speech Doubles Down on Decentralization

During her SXSW keynote, Graber emphasized the advantages of open-source and decentralized social media. She argued that platforms like Bluesky allow users to leave without losing their identity or data, protecting them from billionaires who might try to manipulate the space.

Launched in 2023 as an invite-only platform, Bluesky has grown rapidly, surpassing 32 million users as of March 2025. It continues to be a major alternative to Elon Musk’s X, offering a more open, user-controlled experience.

For now, there’s no official word on whether Bluesky will restock the “A WORLD WITHOUT CAESARS” shirt. Fans eager to grab one may have to keep a close watch on updates from the company.
