YouTube has launched Recap 2025, a new feature that gives users a personalized breakdown of their yearly watch history. Similar to Spotify Wrapped, Recap highlights your top creators, most-watched channels, favorite topics, and even assigns you a viewing personality based on your habits.
The feature is available starting today for users in North America, with a global rollout scheduled later in the week.
A Yearly Summary of Your YouTube Activity

Recap presents up to 12 cards showcasing insights pulled from your YouTube history, including your most-viewed content, preferred genres, and key themes you engaged with throughout the year. The launch follows shortly after YouTube Music introduced its own “Your Recap.”
YouTube explains that the feature “uniquely highlights interests, deep dives, and moments you explored this year, based on your watch history.” Users can access Recap directly from the YouTube homepage or through the You tab in the mobile app.
For those who frequently listen to music on YouTube, the Recap will also list top artists. Additionally, the feature assigns a personality type depending on the kind of content you watch the most. For instance, viewers who spend time learning new skills may receive the “Skill Builder” label.
According to YouTube, the most common personality types this year include the Sunshiner, Wonder Seeker, and Connector, while the Philosopher and Dreamer personas remain relatively rare.
Although the personalized Recap is a welcome addition, it also draws attention to the absence of the once-popular “YouTube Rewind.” The annual highlight video was discontinued after facing significant backlash in 2019 and 2020, and YouTube has not revived it since.
