Anthropic Lets Users Connect More Apps to Claude

On Thursday, Anthropic introduced a new feature called Integrations, allowing users to connect various apps and tools to their AI chatbot, Claude. Additionally, they expanded the “deep research” capability of Claude with a tool called Advanced Research, which enables Claude to search the web, enterprise accounts, and more.

These new features, currently in beta, are available for subscribers to Anthropic’s and , with plans to include the Pro tier soon. In related news, Anthropic also increased the rate limits for its AI-powered coding tool, Claude Code, for Max customers.

The Integrations feature builds on Anthropic’s existing , which allows AI models to draw data from various sources such as business tools, content repositories, and app development environments. This makes it possible for developers to create and host app servers that enhance Claude’s functionality. Once connected, these tools enable Claude to better understand and act on tasks by having deeper context about project histories, task statuses, and organizational knowledge.

Some initial integrations come from prominent partners like , and PayPal. For instance, the Atlassian Integration allows Claude to summarize and create pages within Atlassian’s Confluence software, while the Zapier integration enables Claude to connect with hundreds of apps to automate workflows.

These advancements come as Anthropic seeks to compete with other AI models like Google’s and OpenAI’s ChatGPT. While Anthropic’s reported annualized revenue was around $1.4 billion as of March, the company aims to reach $34.5 billion in revenue by 2027.
