Nvidia Corp. has acquired $2 billion worth of shares in Synopsys Inc., a leading chip-design software company, marking a major step in a broader engineering and design collaboration between the two firms. The investment aims to integrate Nvidia’s advanced AI-computing capabilities more deeply into semiconductor design across multiple industries.
According to a joint announcement released Monday, Nvidia purchased the shares at $414.79 each, securing approximately 2.6% of Synopsys’ outstanding stock.
Following the news, Synopsys shares rose as much as 6.9% during early trading in New York.
