Rippling Faces Challenges in Serving Deel CEO Alex Bouaziz Amidst High-Stakes Lawsuit

HR tech startup Rippling is encountering significant hurdles as it tries to serve Deel’s CEO, Alex Bouaziz, with legal papers in connection with a high-profile lawsuit against its competitor. The company alleges that Deel paid one of its employees to spy on them. However, the French bailiffs hired by Rippling to deliver the papers have been unable to locate Bouaziz at his listed Paris address, as reported by the Irish newspaper Business Post.

Rippling’s legal team is pursuing this lawsuit in Ireland, which includes a dramatic affidavit from the alleged spy that has captured widespread attention. Deel, on the other hand, has strongly denied any wrongdoing in the matter.

The lawsuit cannot progress without serving Bouaziz with the legal papers, but the difficulty in tracking him down is causing delays. French bailiffs, tasked with the job, have struggled to find him at the given address in Paris. Given Bouaziz’s highly mobile lifestyle, Rippling might soon have to seek alternative means, such as serving him via email, reports Business Post.

Bouaziz, a French national, is known to have a “highly nomadic” lifestyle, though he maintains a connection to France, according to French magazine Challenges. His current location is listed as Tel Aviv on LinkedIn, while he also occasionally mentions New York on X (formerly Twitter).
